Simon opened his first restaurant, Greens, in 1990, with two cookery books, no idea how to cook, but look at him now. One half of the Chanel 4 hit magazine programme Sunday Brunch, he and his on screen partner Tim Lovejoy have entertained us now for over 5 years and brightened up our weekends.

For Simon it all started in Didsbury some 25 years ago now. Within two years  of opening Greens, the restaurant was described as one of the most exciting restaurants in the UK, even though it was vegetarian. His restaurants have gone from strength to strength, since setting up EARLE in 2006 with wife Ali and friends, footballer Jason McAteer and footy agent Dave Lockwood. They have now opened The Elephant in Liverpool and this retro pub has been yet another outstanding success.

Simon is the perfect entertainer on the stage and his ability to produce outstanding food whilst joking and laughing with his audience sets him apart from all others. He is the number one demo chef in the United Kingdom and you will see why when you catch his show at this years festival. A handy tip is get there early. Simon has many loyal followers and his shows are always full.
