Alison Stafford

Growing up in Constable country surrounded by stunning scenery and animals I loved to draw and paint from an early age. I studied Fashion and Textiles at Manchester and after obtaining a BA Hons in that field, pursued a career in Fashion design for the next 25 years.

I love to paint portraits of animals and people that capture a character and specialise in equine and canine portraits. I am currently in the midst of a challenge to paint or sketch a horse a day for 2016 which you can see updates on Facebook – www.facebook.com/AlisonStaffordArt

My mediums of choice are acrylics and oils. Acrylic allows me to experiment with colour and texture, whilst I like to use oil for a more classical approach to portrait painting.
