Carl started in the food industry at the tender age of 13 when he obtained work experience in Franks Restaurant in Chester. By the time Carl was 15 he had embarked on a youth training scheme (YTS) working at the Grosvenor Hotel in Chester. Carl stayed there for three years until he was 19, and by that time he had worked his way up to senior chef de partie.
Prior to joining Heathcotes as head chef, Carl, who now lives in Chester city centre, worked for a variety of different restaurants across the UK.
He has also worked with some of the most celebrated celebrity chefs, including Gordon Ramsey, whom he worked with at the Aubergine restaurant in London years before he was in the public eye.
